Everybody expresses different level of excitement while receiving or giving gift. Receiving requires genuine modesty, which may be difficult to achieve in the noisy function. Giving gift is very important and thoughtful concept that shows the importance of being generous. When we receive a gift from somebody, we give them an opportunity to express their gratitude and affection. The art of receiving gift:
Graciously receiving gift is more polite than mechanically saying “Thank You.” At this time, the attention of the receiver should be focused on the gift giver, in order to respond for the goodwill. Here are few ways to graciously receive a gift:
- Give full attention to the gift giver: Stop the present activity you are performing, and give attention to the person.
- Comment on the gift givers activity or the gift: While thanking verbally or writing thank you note, be specific as far as possible.
- Graciously receive the gift: If you are uncomfortable in receiving the gift, turn your attention to the gift giver and graciously receive the gift.
- While saying Thanks, look into the eyes of the person: Honor the person with proper greetings and by saying thanks with an eye contact; avoiding the rush around.
